Royal Randwick: The Winx Stand

Future Food were engaged to help ATC in the development of F&B concepts to be designed into the new Winx Stand at Royal Randwick.

Assessing F&B gaps determined in our initial consultancy gave us great insight into opportunities to reposition F&B and create unique points of difference for the new stand.

Consideration into customer demands, attendance numbers, spend per head, positioning levels and optimal uptake were all considered in the pre-planning of relevant concepts for inclusion.

The Winx Stand has been successfully unveiled and sets a new benchmark for grandstands in Australia, with a modern food and hospitality overlay that will keep the punters coming back for more.

The ultimate focus was on developing a food and beverage offer that will drive demand and maximise spend.

Royal Randwick & Rosehill gardens racecourses

Future Food partnered with Australian Turf Club over a 12 month period to conduct detailed assessments of both Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens Racecourses, with the aim of building future focussed food and hospitality strategies for both venues. As their food and hospitality consultants, we were tasked with conducting a holistic F&B ‘Health Check’ of all F&B cost centres and venues, existing infrastructure, equipment and technology, staffing, capability and operational functionality. 

This review was conducted with the aim of establishing future opportunities both front of house and back of house and establish where enhancements and improvements could be made to augment their food and beverage offers.

In addition to this, a thorough review of F&B performance across each racecourse and each individual outlet was conducted and benchmarked against similar operations to help identify opportunities to reduce operating expenses and maximise financial returns. Analysis of of P&L reports, attendance, spend per head, strike rate, wage and operating costs were all assessed and benchmarked to determine uplift potential.

With a comprehensive understanding of both racecourses, Future Food delivered a 3 year F&B Strategy for each venue that followed a road map to success in order to maximise F&B relevance and in turn maximise sales opportunities..
