The Pavilion Performing Arts Centre Sutherland

Sydney, Australia

2022

The Pavilion will become the premier performing arts centre in the southern Sydney metropolitan area, strengthening local and regional cultural values and connecting its community to entertainment and the arts.

Sutherland Shire Council (‘Council’) confirmed the decision in 2020 to upgrade the Sutherland Entertainment Centre, investing nearly $44 million into the project including upgrades to the adjoining Peace Park.

Since 1976 the Sutherland Entertainment Centre has brought drama, song, music, dance and more to residents and visitors in Sutherland Shire. The refurbishment of the Centre will transform it into a vibrant space for the performing arts in the heart of the local community.

This investment will ensure the facilities are capable of serving the Sutherland community into the future and that the arts and performance culture will continue to grow and develop.

In addition, Sutherland Arts Theatre (E Parade) is included in the RFT with a recent refurbished bar room and entry foyer.

The successful respondents will have the demonstrated ability to provide ‘best in class’, quality, customer-centric and contemporary food and beverage that contributes to the overall performing arts theatre experience, whilst attracting its own customer base due to its unique points of difference and reputation.

The Pavilion aims to become a benchmark and the future catering partner must possess this same vision and drive to achieve this aspiration.

FOOD & HOSPITALITY OBJECTIVE

The Pavilion will set a new standard in food and hospitality offering for the area, harnessing community excitement surrounding the new performing arts centre as a social and cultural space.

Sutherland Shire Council has set the stage for an experienced F&B operator to showcase their considerable and multifaceted hospitality experience with the opportunity to:

Establish a benchmark, modern, on trend cafe - including activating an al-fresco space that maximises the opportunity overlooking Peace Park with the opportunity to transition into the evening with a light snack and beverage forward concept.

Opportunity to create a destinational F&B concept with an open air terrace bar with its own unique identity, one that maximises a gap in the market for a stylish after work bar with views over Peace Park.

Design a food and beverage offer for the Pavilion’s foyer bars that is appealing, approachable and affordable to enhance the event experience for the diverse patron demographics.

Create and promote a flexible catering offer that will meet and exceed the community needs for a variety of events and functions within the corporate and leisure markets.

Operate the Foyer Bar of the newly renovated Sutherland Arts Theatre as well as opportunities for catering, functions and events.
