Bourke Street Precinct

Melbourne, Victoria

2019

As part of the City of Melbourne’s revitalisation of the ‘Civic Heart of the City,’ Future Food were engaged to complete a strategic consultancy focussed on a holistic review of the proposed precinct plans and identify opportunities to maximise the benefit of food, beverage and hospitality retail can bring to the wider development.

With the aim of the Bourke Street Precinct to create new spaces where people can meet, connect and engage, between Bourke Street and Little Collins Street, the hospitality component will play a significant role in street side activation and delivering modern amenity to the CBD.

As a modern mixed-use precinct, containing public common spaces, rooftops, dining laneways, retail spaces, Council office spaces and libraries, Future Food provided detailed analysis of the plans and provided direct advice back to Council, their Architects and Development Team to ensure the precinct can meet the wide range of need states from all proposed user groups.

With 12 F&B retail opportunities identified within the plans, amassing approximately 2,000m2 of GLA, the Bourke Street Precinct will reshape the ‘Civic Heart of the City’ and deliver a new destinational precinct for the City of Melbourne.

Size/Scale:  2,000m2 of GLA
