The Waterfront Redevelopment
Brisbane, Australia
Future Food provided a full scope of F&B Masterplanning services to Dexus for the proposed redevelopment of Eagle Street Pier in Brisbane. The Waterfront Precinct Redevelopment project has a long timeline for development and the F&B strategy (written in 2018) was set against a proposed 2026 first year of operation.
The 1.5-hectare site set in the heart of Brisbane’s financial district will trade in an entirely different competitive landscape as Brisbane undergoes significant change over the next decade. Future Food’s reporting not only outlined the competitive landscape and expected changed trading conditions (Queen’s Wharf Development, Cross-River Rail Link, Queen Street Mall Redevelopment as well as other major infrastructure projects) but also provided extensive financial benchmarking, and forecasting (including an evaluation of Sustainable Volume & Market Potential) as well as spatial recommendations, strategic placement of food and hospitality within the architectural envelope and a listing of recommended F&B operators with provided examples of the positioning, capability, demonstrated standards of operation that will be required in the future to set the project apart in the market.
