Burnside Village
Adelaide, Australia
In 2022, Future Food was commissioned by Cohen Group/Burnside Village to provide consultancy services extending through 2023. This decision was prompted by Cohen Group/Burnside Village's diminished confidence in their existing Food and Beverage (F&B) Consultant. The undertaking pertained to the development of an asset within the Stage Six Expansion, presently under construction and slated for completion in 2025. The project necessitated a reconsideration of the business case and the infusion of innovative F&B elements.
Future Food, responding to the challenge, presented a strategic shift from a retail-oriented mindset to one centered around hospitality. Consequently, the Centre's approach was reconfigured to cater to a new customer demographic, embracing an evening economy, and redefining the F&B mix to incorporate a more elevated experiential aspect.
Following the preliminary evaluation of the Centre's offerings, Future Food conducted a thorough analysis of the proposed floor plans. The aim was to ensure that the Stage Six development possessed functional capabilities integrated into its design, steering clear of a form-centric and function-incapable outcome.
Building on the recommendations for physical planning, Future Food engaged in discussions about the proposed volume of F&B establishments within the Centre. This analysis was aligned with market dynamics, considering the location, competitive landscape, and the envisaged operator mix. Future Food advocated for a sustainable leasing strategy, one that would underpin the Centre's aspirations and distinguish it as a unique destination.
In 2023, acknowledging the value of Future Food's contributions, Cohen Group re-enlisted their services. The specific mandate involved supporting Colliers in their leasing approach. This entailed the development of a highly engaging marketing document and an advertising strategy designed to secure interest from the best operators in the market.
