In 2023, Architectus enlisted the services of Future Food for the revitalization of the Canberra Theatres. The redeveloped Canberra Theatres project encompasses the integration of a new 2,000-seat theatre, expanded front-of-house and function/event facilities, newly designed foyer bars (across all theatres), and a state-of-the-art box office.

Noteworthy among the outlined project objectives from the client, Canberra Theatres, was the incorporation of food and beverage establishments available for independent leasing to third-party operators, in addition to internally operated foyer bars and core capabilities. This strategic approach enables the Theatres to concentrate on their core competencies while allowing catering or F&B operators to furnish an exceptional offering for the Canberra Theatres. Consequently, meticulous attention was directed towards ensuring that the Theatre provided a conducive infrastructure level, permitting third-party operators to function autonomously without any conflict of usage in critical back-of-house areas, including loading docks and corridors.

This collaboration ensured a comprehensive and strategic approach towards the enhancement of the Canberra Theatres, guaranteeing a seamless and mutually beneficial partnership between the Theatre and independent operators.
