EOI CLOSED SUCCESSFULLY IN 2023

Museums Victoria has been creating knowledge, entertaining visitors and building the State Collection since 1854.

For more than 160 years, the people of Victoria have turned to their State museum to connect the past and the present, and to imagine the future. As Australia’s largest public museum organisation, we inspire audiences to engage in life’s deep mysteries and big questions.

Our museums present unique and exceptional experiences for more than 2 million visitors each year, who come from all over Australia and around the world to be inspired and to learn about themselves and the universe we inhabit.

The collection is an invaluable record of Victoria’s environmental and cultural history, and our amazing wealth of over 17 million items has been creating a sense of wonder and awe in visitors for generations.

Museums Victoria (MV) is Australia’s largest public museum organisation. As the State museum for Victoria, it is responsible for looking after the State’s collections, conducting research and as a multi-venue educational and cultural institution, providing cultural and science programs for the people of Victoria and visitors from interstate and overseas.

MV operates Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum and Scienceworks and is the custodian of the heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building, Old Customs House and Spotswood Pumping Station.

Now, in 2023 Museums Victoria is looking towards the future and seeking to partner with exciting Retail Services Food & Hospitality providers for three of their key sites; Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks and Royal Exhibition Building.

EOI BACKGROUND

In February 2023 we are conducting three individual expression of interest campaigns, with the aim of identifying future partners to deliver a range of F&B related services on behalf of Museums Victoria.

  • EOI-23-001/MM – Melbourne Museum – Retail Food Partner

  • EOI-23-002/REB – Melbourne Museum & Royal Exhibition Building – Catering & Events Partner

  • EOI-23-003/SW – Scienceworks Museum – Retail Food Partner

Please contact Ash Cooke from Future Food to request a copy of the EOI documents or for a confidential discussion 0402 556 490

For these opportunities we are seeking expressions of interests from a range of hospitality providers to deliver on trend food and hospitality services, under catering service agreements, for contacts starting 1st September 2023.

Proponents are invited to respond to any, or all of these opportunities individually or in a joint venture partnership, based on their specialisation and capacity to deliver best practice food and hospitality amenity.

We have elected to separate these contracts from what has traditionally been a ‘single provider’ partnership, as a way of enticing specialist operators to consider responding to one, two, or all three of these opportunities.

Small business ‘café’ operators, medium sized catering and event providers and large hospitality groups are all welcome to assess these prospects and consider putting together a focused submission for consideration.
