The Victorian Pride Centre is a place of belonging, support and pride for our diverse LGBTIQA+ communities. As Australia’s first purpose-built pride centre, this is where everyone can come together, honour the past, celebrate the present and work towards a more inclusive future. We are home to important resident organisations, engaging cultural programs, vital health services and inspiring social spaces.

A place for community. A place for pride. Victorian Pride Centre. We’re open.

OCT/NOV 2026 | ST KILDA, MELBOURNE

Victorian Pride Centre Food & Beverage Opportunity

This iconic, community-focused venue calls for a creative food & beverage operator to establish an all day, active and vibrant food & hospitality offer on Fitzroy St.

This is an opportunity to create a distinctive hospitality concept that transitions from a vibrant Melbourne café by day to an inviting evening venue with prime street frontage and al fresco space. By day, benchmark coffee, light meals and an appealing freshly prepared food offer that will cater to workers, locals and Centre visitors. Taking cues from Melbourne’s café culture, the offer should combine efficient service and convenient lunch takeaway items with popular dine-in options.

By evening, the pace slows and your concept comes into focus - a wine bar, cocktail bar, neighbourhood restaurant or tapas offering, with a curated menu, quality beverages and warm, attentive hospitality.

Across both offers, a considered range of price points should cater to diverse customer needs, from everyday convenience and accessible dining to moments of indulgence.

The Centre is home to 13 not-for-profits and charities supporting Victoria's vibrant LGBTIQA+ community, alongside the iconic queer bookshop Hares & Hyenas and two commercial tenants.

The Vision

To create a distinctive St Kilda hospitality destination that forms a vibrant, welcome statement for the Victorian Pride Centre - a Melbourne café by day and an inviting neighbourhood venue into the evening, where great food, benchmark coffee and quality beverages bring people together.

Reflecting the VPC’s spirit of inclusion, connection and celebration, the venue will embrace the LGBTIQA+ community alongside locals, workers and visitors, offering warm hospitality and a strong sense of belonging.

The shared ambition is to bring the operator’s concept to life through an inviting space and an F&B offer that evolves throughout the day from an appealing day time offer with light meals and takeaway to a relaxed evening experience with curated food and beverages. A considered range of affordable price points will support everyday convenience, accessible dining and occasions to indulge.

The F&B operator will create memorable local favourites that contributes to the Centre’s community life and builds a sustainable hospitality business.

Submissions for this wonderful opportunity must be received by 4pm Friday 27 November 2026 (AEDT).
